Trout Fishing Lessons

Trout Fishing Lessons

Trout can be a fickle and frustrating species. They are possibly the smartest fish around and the bigger they get, the harder they become to catch (they don’t grow that big by being stupid). This is why you need to use every little trick in the book to outsmart these wily customers.

Our trout fishing guide has over 20 years Trout fishing experience, whether it’s trolling, bait fishing or spinning rivers and lakes for Salmon and Trout, he knows all the secrets. Learn the secrets that will get you the fish when everyone else is struggling. Learn the art of downrigging and trolling baits and lures. Find out how to turn “lookers into hookers” and learn why fish take certain lure colours in different lakes and at different times of the day. At the end of the session you will no longer be flying blind and wondering why you didn’t get a result and you’ll have a few “secret weapons” up your sleeve when the fishing gets really tough. These Trout fishing lessons are an investment in your future fishing success.

Autumn and winter is a great time for fishing our lakes for Trout and Salmon. This is when they prepare for their annual spawning run and this is when they become really hungry and really aggressive.

Locations

Lake Bullen Merri

This volcanic lake in the western districts holds some of the biggest Salmon and Trout in the country. It is stocked annually with Atlantic and Chinook/Quinnat Salmon, Brown and Rainbow Trout and Australian Bass. The food supply in this lake is huge and during the 80’s and 90’s Lake Bullen Merri had the world’s largest growth rate for Salmonoids. It is a truly wonderful fishery and can turn on the most memorable Trout/Salmon sessions you’ll ever have. Believe us when we tell you, once you have seen what this lake can produce, you will be going back time and time again.

Lake Eildon

With a reputation for breathtaking scenery, trophy sized wild Brown and Rainbow trout and a myriad of Native species, this versatile lake offers sensational fishing with a glorious Alpine backdrop. To be successful at such a huge lake requires experience and a proven game plan. Our lesson will dramatically steepen your learning curb, giving you the tips and tricks that normally take years to learn on your own.

Let our guide show you the secrets of these amazing fisheries. You will learn all of the trolling techniques required to get a result, including successful lure colours and how to get the most out of your depth sounder. You will also be shown the most successful methods of baitfishing and lure casting both from the boat and bank.
